Out of Omaha and on to the big screen

Growing up in Omaha Nebraska has never been the picnic in the park, easy going “Good Life” that’s written on the sign.

That life is for some, but not for all. Hidden behind the scenes of our city is a quiet rule of thumb pictured in the documentary Out of Omaha.

The movie follows twin Trotter brothers around for a span of eight years. Showing the ups and downs of life due to racial and economic crisis for people of color.

The director, writers, actors, and producers put together a vision of what it takes to move ahead of life when the odds are stacked against you.

Out of Omaha will be available March 6 and 9th at the Aksarben Cinema.

Hope you all can check it out.

Later on that day…..

I’ve always wanted to write a Latin soap opera. I spent days of hours wasted after school. Watching the Latin American channels on Cox Cable.

Watching the music videos and learning the culture. I’m always amazed by how different people do things differently.

Excited to have a better attitude right now. It took some doing. I got up and took the advice of a fellow blogger by getting some exercise.

Yes yes. The sculpting process of my body is in full effect. Every little bit counts.

Planning some cool sights to see this weekend. I hope it’s as beautiful as on the movies.

But if it isn’t. I promise to at least find one positive about it. Cross my heart and hope to….fly. Better than dying isn’t it?
The gift of the night came with a better appearance than the morning so I’m happy for that and hopefully I’ll keep this good vibe going. 😉

I did it

I made a blog post a while back 5 things to do before the end of the year.

I have currently completed 3 of those things. Can I get a whoo hoo!

Today I did Runyon Canyon. It was a breezy 90 something degrees. My cell phone decided not to work as soon as I got to Union Station (go figure) making me have to find alternative transportation.

I asked the universe for a cheaper ride and once again it answered. I got a $7 ride there and back instead of a potential  $14 to $30 taking the metro underground train.

I had to walk 30 mins there and back instead.

Which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. By walking instead of riding I was able to fulfil a request from my sister in Nebraska. She asked me to get a picture of her favorite group of all times Hollywood walk of fame star.

Wish granted! And I found my childhood favorite group too. New kids on the block 😂.

All in all the day turned out great. I’m a bit sore and achy. Plus I still have a train ride and bus to catch. But I won’t complain about it because I have no complaints.
